NOVA Student Film Festival (NSFF) is a non-competitive film festival of short films open to all Northern Virginia Community College students from all fields of study (NOT just film students). Each year we have a special section which showcases films from partnering institutions in the US and from around the world.
One film is selected each year to receive the Dean's Award for Cinematic Distinction
This is a short-films festival; submissions cannot exceed 15 mins (including credits)
Must be a NOVA student, a NOVA Alum or invited to submit in the Spotlight section
Festival is open to students from all disciplines and not just film students
All submissions in a language other than English should be fully subtitled in English.
All submissions must have industry standard opening and end credits (please research this if you are not familiar with it)
By submitting, you certify that you have the rights to commit the film to NOVA Student Film Festival public screenings and for festival promotions, should it be selected.
All films submitted for 2018 Festival consideration must have been completed in either 2016 or 2017
If selected you must make your film available to festival in format that will be communicated in your selection announcement.
Maximum 2 submissions per student is allowed.
