My Dad, Stephanie
In 2013, before most people understood what it meant to be transgender, my 71-year-old dad, Phil, suddenly revealed to our family that she is transgender, and her name is Stephanie, a secret she had kept hidden her whole life.
Taken by surprise, I immediately began filming, capturing Stephanie’s life and her transition over the next five years. “My Dad, Stephanie” follows the joy, heartache and humor of Stephanie’s transition from her life as a man to living full-time as a woman.
