Private Project

My Bloody Brother

A girl and her brother are quarantined in their house during a pandemic. She shoots clips of him in her own way to document her mini-project of making him useful, or rather encourage him to do what he loves to do instead of being bored.

The sister films the brother playing video games, while irritating him and disturbing him, then she throws a ball at him so he gets up and smacks him back with it.

She continues filming him doing dorky stuff, and then she throws the ball again at him trying to convince him to retrieve his love for football. He ignores it, but then he -thinking that she doesn't see him- starts to juggle the ball, but then he sees her and takes the phone away from her.

However, she insists on filming him, so she does that candidly, for three days, trying to help him with whatever she has got (such as giving him non-slip socks) until finally he gets the move he aims for and both become very happy.

Director Statement

This film will always be special to me because it was filmed during the peak COVID-19 period where we were afraid of even touching coming close family and were in a very vague phase.

The film was recorded with an old iPhone, inside the house, with us trying to get the most out of the script and to focus on the message while obviously having a lot of fun.

This film discusses the deep relations and the importance of support from the close ones that we see regularly in the behaviour of human beings, uniquely so in this way.
