Musical Legacy of Konkana Adivasi

For ‘Konkani Adivasis’ troupe, music is an integral part of their ritual. People ensure active participation during ‘Dongaridev’ ceremony spanning 8-10 days.Konkana Adivasi’s have preserved its ancient musical culture. Tribal music and instruments have a major impact on our culture. Konkana Adivasi love their music and have songs and dance for every celebration. Most of their traditional music instruments are made naturally by materials. However, these instruments are now vanishing due to the new age advancements and urban influence. This was an attempt to trace musical culture of Konkana Adivasis. This dynamic Adivasi culture represents static, unchanging antithesis to India’s modernity.
