Musafir: A story of leprosy & migration in India

This documentary captures the ongoing implementation of a 3-year project on Migration and Leprosy in India across 3 states and 1 Union territory. Chandigarh & Delhi are considered in-migration states/UT, while Bihar & Uttar Pradesh are out-migration states.

People migrate between these states to seek treatment and other key leprosy services in spite of them receiving these very same services in their state of origin. One of the prime reasons is ‘stigma & discrimination’, which considerably limits and restricts people from realizing their goals.

The Migration and Leprosy research project is being carried out for the first time in India, which will significantly contribute to the well-being of people affected by leprosy in India and globally.
