Murphy
Leo, an isolated and hardened older man, aims to build a garden in the backyard of his new house. He faces a threat to his solitary lifestyle in the form of Kia, the imaginative young girl next door. As Leo begins to connect with Kia, he must decide whether he will face his internal struggles and try to move forward or remain stuck in past grief.

Chloe Caufield is a graduate of Huntington University's film program, where she has completed several award-winning student shorts. Her work thus far is very character-driven, and addresses universal issues through deeply personal stories. She continues to work toward producing narrative and documentary work that encourages meaningful discussion and self-reflection.
Murphy is a project that stemmed from a few visuals, remembering who I was as a child, and reflecting on how I deal with past hurt. With the help of some amazing faculty, cast, and crew, this blob of vision was refined and realized as a cohesive fifteen minute short film. This project will always hold a special place in my heart, not only as my senior capstone film, but as a form of connecting with others in a way I often can't through words alone, and a reversal of negative experiences into something that can give hope.
