Ms. Me
MS ME is a powerful short film about a depressed young man who joins members of his poor community in a search for a missing girl, and in the process discovers what’s missing in his relationship and in his life. The story is layered, complex and subtle. It plays effectively into some genre tropes such as mystery and suspense with regard to the missing girl, when in fact the story is actually about human relationships and is indeed a coming of age story. In addition to its layered complexity, the film uses a non-linear structure that weaves back and forth in time, interspersed with the video diary of the missing girl… add to the authenticity of the harsh, often ambiguous world that Grant inhabits.
