Tom Storey is a British director, filmmaker and writer. His first film was a local short film filmed in Nottingham - Mr Lonesome (2019) - and aimed to raise awareness of loneliness in the elderly but in a heartfelt drama, eliminating the usual cliché of loneliness. The film's official first screening premiere managed to raise over £270 for the local charity Age UK Derbyshire.
Alongside working on independent short films and working as a freelancer, Tom works as a Canon Product Specialist, supporting all of the major photography and videography events throughout the UK and Europe.
My aim with Mr Lonesome was to take the expectation of a typical student film and issue related cliche film and blow that out of the water by giving the audience the unexpected. Instead, the audience get a film about true hope and a visually pleasing experience from its unique shooting style. It was a delight to be able to raise so much money for a local charity on top of all this. That really was the cherry on top!
