Director Biography - David Ehret

As a biologist and gardener, I relate to plants. I remembers as a child, wondering what it would be like to be a plant. In my film, Moving Day, I finally make that leap. When I’m not pretending to be a plant, I’m a filmmaker and video game developer. I try to advocate for science in all my projects. My favourite review of one of my video games is “they tricked me into learning”.

Director Statement

The film tells the story of Tara, a tiny dandelion seed, as she leaves home to seek her own way in the world. The story is written in a first person narrative to allow the viewer to experience the world as Tara does. I’ve also sprinkled a bit of science and natural history here and there - I wanted this film to not only be entertaining, but educational as well.
