Tomias Dagicour is a 22 yo French Cameraman, Editor and Director, currently based in Australia.
His interest in Filmmaking began in middle school, where he wrote and directed short films for his friends, while also taking acting classes.
Then he gave up on his plans after high school, and started studying (pandemic period). He then changed his mind by joining a private film school, before abandoning it two years later, completely burned out. He found in traveling a way to heal, and new encounters and cultural differences are what inspire him to create.
The crew and cast who have worked with Tomias like to define him as a “world person.”
Tomias (the director) has always loved running, even though he's been asthmatic since birth, so he wanted to tackle the subject, while depicting running as a bit more than a sport.
Several runs around the neighborhood are what slowly gave him bits and pieces of inspiration for the story to be told.
"It came naturally after scouting the area" - the director said.
Coming out of a painful break-up, Tomias wanted the audience to feel loss, grief, but also acceptance at the end, all by portraying the bond of two brothers. One in particular who struggles to run again without his sibling.
"I wanted the film to be atmospheric, scenic, where there are scenes without much dialogue - but the audience can feel what's happening on screen, without using words.
On the other hand, the deaf character who's always wearing the same white shirt is here to question the audience. He's the mystery box around which the film revolves.
