Yassmine Betioui, is a british-moroccan filmmaker.
Using oral storytelling as a framework to reveal overlooked histories and local folklore, her work explores the constant dialogue between memory and identity, shaped by the time(s) and space(s) they inhabit—both real and imagined.
She works primarily with analogue film, bringing together experimental animation, observational drawing, and immersive sonic landscapes.
Showcases of her films include Deptford X’s Artist Weekender, (MEMORY GARDEN, 2024) and at the Barbican, (NEITHER HERE, NOR THERE, 2020) in London where she was a former young film programmer in 2019.
She is currently training as a film conservationist whilst developing her next film.
