Harry Pound is a filmmaker from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is the Visual Storyteller for Carleton College.
I moved to Minneapolis in 2020, shortly after the murder of George Floyd. A little later I visited 38th and Chicago, George Floyd Square.
That day, as I drove down Lake Street, I was struck by the colorful murals lining a street that had seen so much violence and destruction in recent weeks. One particular mural caught my attention because it wasn’t just a painting, but a mosaic on a large scale.
I came to meet the artist behind that mosaic installation and discovered a story as grand as her artwork.
