I have a passion for telling stories that question the status quo with themes that resonate. I enjoy entertaining an audience with thought-provoking concepts. I write about the present by contemplating the past, anticipating a possible future or adding some strange twist to our current reality. I believe that storytelling should be used to entertain, but also to inspire curiosity about the world we live in today...and hopefully change it for the better.
When I'm not exploring more complicated themes, I'm writing animated films. I enjoy exploring universal emotional themes associated with coming of age as it's such an innocent and yet trialing period for many. And those feelings resonate with everyone.
And when I'm not writing, I'm a personal trainer. Guiding others through exercise programs and working toward a specific goal has made me a better filmmaker.
Mongrel was my first time directing...and also my first time stepping on a film set. Somehow I convinced a lot of people (crew and financial supporters) to back this very unique and powerful story with zero experience. The result is a culmination of hard work from many talented artists that I was privileged enough to lead.
Thanks for your consideration and I hope you enjoy!
