Mongol Shovajatra
The Bengali civilization is several thousand years old. Its culture is likewise quite ancient. Bengal uses its calendar. Every year, Bengalis celebrate the New Year with a carnival. In the nineteenth century, 'Mongol Shovajatra' was introduced into this culture, which has seen numerous transformations. Every year, on the first day of the new year in Bangladesh, this colorful procession takes place to wish the country and the globe well. On November 30, 2016, the United Nations Organization UNESCO included Bangladesh's 'Mongol Shovajatra' to its list of intangible cultural treasures for humanity.
