Alejandro Botijo and friends hop on their bicycles and follow the migration of monarch butterflies from the Pacific Northwest to the Central California coast. Along the way, they create monarch waystations by planting milkweed and wildflowers on roadsides and other underutilized land.

Alex Wand is a composer and sound artist currently based in California. Alex’s work emerges from his interests in folk music, futurism, social practice art, alternate tuning systems, field recording, and more-than-human worlds. He is a multi-instrumentalist who has performed at venues and festivals from California to Tibet such as REDCAT, MicroFest, Center for New Music, and the Tongyeong International Music Festival. Alex is a Grammy Award-winning member of the Partch Ensemble and performs in his music collective Desert Magic.
