2021 Moments Fleeting (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

Jeffrey Daijiro Taylor is an LA based mixed race composer and audio specialist for films & games. Some of his notable work includes the film score and audio mix for the Director's Guild of America award winning short film Moments Fleeting (2021), incidental music for the BAFTA recognized experimental film There is a Hole in the Ground (2022), and his role as the composer, audio designer and project manager for the indie game Iaijutsu (2022).

Born in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, Jeffrey grew up loving music. He used to sing in his church and school choir, take piano lessons and loved seeing the Boston Symphony with his grandparents. Out of Jeffrey's love for music, he would go on to attend Ithaca College's School of Music where he'd graduate with a BM in Music Composition.

In college, Jeffrey was first introduced to the craft of film scoring while taking a class on composing for visual media. At the time, his main focus was on his training as a contemporary classical composer, but something about working with directors and contributing to a greater goal intrigued him. During his training, he began collaborating with a student from the film department named Justin Li. In their first meeting, he told Jeffrey that he wanted his sound for his next film Never Last (2019). Never Last was Jeffrey's first feeling of working on something big.

After Jeffrey finished working on Never Last, he went on to set up his roots in the games industry as a composer and audio specialist. The first game he worked on was a 2D sprite based samurai game named Iaijutsu (2021).

As the pandemic settled down and films started being made again, Jeffrey took another step back into the film industry to work on Justin's next film Moments Fleeting (2021). Scoring for a professionally hired staff was a real step up from the college work he was used to. It also marked a leap forward in his audio skills. After working as an audio specialist for Iaijutsu, he felt confident enough to translate those skills into the film industry by creating the audio mix for the film. Moments Fleeting has gone on to win several awards including one from the prestigious Director's Guild of America Student Awards.
