Mohammed Almughanni
Born in Gaza in 1994, Mohammed Almughanni is a film director and screenwriter. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Film Directing from Łódź Film School in Poland.
He founded Gaza Films, a production and post-production company driven by a passion for storytelling that seeks to unearth and examine the depths of the human emotions and motivations. His films have been awarded at festivals such as Ji.hlava (2020), where he won the Silver Eye Award, IDFA (2023), where he received the IDFA Forum Award for Best Pitch, and Clermont- Ferrand (2024), where he was honored with the Grand Prix International Film Award. His short film An Orange from Jaffa was shortlisted for the European Film Award, Cesar Awards and Oscar®, and he is currently developing his first feature-length documentary, Son of the Streets. His films have been featured on Arte, Al Jazeera Documentary, and BBC Storyville.
Almughanni raises awareness about collateral issues faced by innocent civilians in war, including national identity and unregistered children.
