MacKenzie Mollison is excited to be making her writing and directing debut with “Mobstrology.” Born and raised in Birmingham, MI, she has pursued theatre, film, and specifically, sketch comedy since she was 6 years old after her dad introduced her (probably way too early,) to his 90's “Best of SNL” DVD box set. A recent Arts Management & Playwriting graduate of the University of Michigan School of Theatre & Drama, MacKenzie will soon be based in Los Angeles, CA as a writer/actor/potential director.
The Mafia isn’t a game. It’s a soul-sucking and dangerous lifestyle. One needs to be sharp, intuitive, courageous, and above all - aware. The internet knows that self awareness begins with one thing: the Astrological sign, (of course.) Mafia men could easily laugh off a term of identification as “Gemini,” and all the superstition along with it. One day I thought, what if they didn’t? What if they actually considered Astrology when discussing business for the Mob in the same way many young girls do to potential love interests? After bouncing some dialogue around with my good friend Emilie, mimicking gruff, suspicious Mafia bosses, we conjured some silly conversation. Thus was born: Lorenz & Paulie. Give 'em a plot and more than a few edits later, bada-bing bada-boom. Mobstrology.
