Covid has not only turned the world upside down but has also put people in a position to be very creative. One of the ways people have had to be creative is when it comes to dating. When the pandemic started there was a slew of new dating apps created to try and connect young singles from their quarantine locations. But dating whether in person or virtually is very hard. This struggle helped me come up with the idea for Mix and Matched.

In this 11 minute short film, I wanted to create commentary not just on love, dating culture itself, and how all of that works in a pandemic, but also the importance of having friends that support you no matter what. There was also the added challenge of finding ways to shoot a narrative film in a covid safe way. This challenge pushed me creatively and helped me come up with the concept of a video dating app.
