Writing has always been my way of understanding the world, a tool that allows me to connect with emotions and experiences I couldn’t express in other ways. Ever since I was young, words felt like my closest companions, providing a sense of clarity and escape. Math and numbers may have never been my friends, but words? They’ve always been a safe haven.
I started writing seriously in high school, when I began to find "structure" in my thoughts—though at 15, that structure was fluid and raw. But it was during those formative years that I discovered the power of storytelling. Writing helped me shape the chaos of growing up into something meaningful. It wasn’t just a pastime; it was how I processed my reality.
Now, as an adult with years of experience in corporate marketing and teaching, writing remains my constant. Teaching middle school has offered me new perspectives on the world, especially the power of stories to influence and inspire young minds. My stories are often about connection, growth, and the challenges of identity, which stems from my own journey of self-discovery and reflection.
I write to explore what it means to be human, to understand myself and the world around me. My goal is to evoke emotion, spark thought, and create work that leaves readers feeling a little more connected to themselves and others. For me, storytelling isn’t just about entertainment—it’s about creating empathy and showing the beauty in every messy, complicated part of life.
