Valentyna Romanova is Ukrainian artist born and based in Kyiv. Her field of work spreads from commercial illustration, book illustration to educational, advertising and personal animated projects.
She takes her inspiration from magic stories, Impressionism and the concept of hygge.
Her works are a potion of kindness and sincerity with scents of naivety.
The main aim of creating this music video was urge to visualize all of the pain the war has brought into the lives of Ukrainians and how deeply it affected life and relationships on all levels. Millions of people fled abroad, families, couples got separated. The mixture of overwhelming feelings, hard choices and irreversible decisions became a part of the everyday experience of an average Ukrainian.
This animated video is a collective story of Ukrainians during wartime. As much as it's relatable to everyone as right it felt to speak up and make this aspect of life noticeable, so people can feel soothing through watching the story and process their pain and sorrow. The understanding that every separated couple and family feels the similar way and they are not alone, they could feel compassion and empathy gave me the energy to make this animation.
