Mishaal Mahmood is a Pakistani-American director, writer, and producer who has specialized in both spot features and fictional films. She's in her 7th year of filmmaking. She was the feature producer and executive producer of Portola New Network in high school, and her love for both broadcast journalism and documentary filmmaking has grown from there. Mishaal's spot features have been recognized for their heartwarming storytelling by the Orange County Film Festival, All American High School Film Festival, and many more, and she's been nationally recognized for her work at the Student Television Network. She hopes to continue creating documentaries and films highlighting the Muslim community, Pakistani culture and overlooked heroes as she pursues a degree in South Asian Studies at Barnard College.
When she's not making films, she's running Summer Break Bakery, an independent home bakery she founded.
