Director Statement

In 2016 my brother, Yuval, was diagnosed with brain cancer. At the time I was at a pre-army educational program near Gaza strip, and I remember the day my father came with my sister to tell me the news. I never worried that much because it never occurred to me for one second that the cancer will get the best of my brother. Two years later, on March the 8th, 2018, Yuval passed away. I was a soldier then. In 2021 I decided to go to film school at Sapir College, and until that point I've never really dealt with my brother's death. I tried psychological therapy, but felt it wasn’t right for me. "Misenplace" is the first film I made that regards my brother's passing. It's the first time in my life that I dared touching the wound I was so afraid of. The film is based on a true story. After the Shiva (7 days of mourning) my father took the Kibbutz' tractor, me and two of my uncles and we collected the same type of rocks which today stand as my brother grave.
