Milky Way
MILKY WAY
A song of return to the sea through silent relationships made of suspension and nakedness without pretense. The veils land and are stripped from the dense warp of invisible currents that cradle the flesh and shorten the distances between the bodies. Nomadic presences meet in the static framing of a landscape that is tinged with the sacred and the waters and the magical merge in a vital breath that attracts the eye with the same force with which the celestial spheres chase each other in the emptiness of space. A figure with a mystical profile appears who, with inspired delicacy, in spite of the unpredictability of the forces that surround him, welcomes and unties the knots rooted in the body entrusted to him. We are facing a solemn mass that sees the sea as an altar and the mystery of the sick body of a life that needs care. An initiatory event, therefore, described through repeated gestures moved by syncretic beliefs and astral wisdom that sees the innocence of the child as the absolute mediator between the possible universes

Julian Soardi is an Italian-Argentine visual artist, born in Gioia del Colle in the province of Bari in 1989. He studied Visual Arts at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts with a specialization in Painting, in Milan, where he still lives and works as a filemaker, performer and visual artist. His masters, like his artistic training, are articulated and touch various levels of the art sphere, rooted mainly in photography, painting and finally in theater. He has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions, always working on a line of experimentation between artistic languages, approaching the moving image through video installation, video performance, video art, video clips and screen dance.
The creative process is inspired by the folds of time, where the flow of time expands, becomes suspended and relates to the morphology and anthropology of the landscape. The lyric of the pictorial image is revealed, remains in the retina of the eye to unfold and become naked to the appearance of things. The image changes in silence, the relationship with it is always ephemeral, with the urgency of having to stop something before it disappears. Technique is never at the forefront of the creative flow, it is subordinate to the process, it is the image that suggests how it can be worked and through work thought takes shape, with experiments and techniques not always academic or formal.
