Migrantes
Why did you decide to leave your country?
How was the journey on the way to where you are now?
What is your hope for the future?
I travelled to Tijuana with these three questions for migrants from Central America. I wanted people in America to be able to see a person and hear their voice as they told their stories. I was then able to come alongside some amazing organizations in the United States who are serving these migrants once they are permitted to enter into the country. Amidst the various political opinions in our social climate, there are still thousands of people that are crying for help. Sometimes, we simply need to be reminded of a person’s humanity, regardless of what side of the border they stand on.

Joshua Coe is an independent filmmaker and photographer that enjoys the beauty of diversity amongst various cultures. Born and raised in Phoenix, Joshua would say he has the best of both worlds. The mountains are a stones throw away, and his hood holds endless beauty in all the different cultures that thrive around the city. “I enjoy capturing the things that other people may not get to experience face to face. I want to show the glory in the mountains that some may never know. I want to share stories and show the faces of people that many will never have the pleasure of meeting.”
Joshua began photography in 2013, when one of his photos was published by National Geographic. He continued to expand his portfolio, and eventually adopting filmmaking into his repertoire. He began with filming training videos for businesses and ventured into documenting weddings with photography and cinematography. Joshua currently has expanded his portfolio across many different horizons, from being published by Arizona Highways to working for different organizations across the country.
