Former Executive Chef turned film student, Douglas J. Corcoran is a 2023 graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans who is currently working on projects that give people a glimpse into the culinary world. His love of the arts is at the forefront of his passion projects, and this is his first documentary!
My goal in creating Midwest Ice Age! is bring the art of ice carving to the general public. Ice carving is not taught at culinary schools any longer, endangering this beautiful art. My hope is that my film will not only convey some of the challenges of operating an ice carving business but also inspire a younger generation to pick up a chain saw and sculpt ice!
