Midnight Mirror
Hodophobia is the fear of travelling, especially when alone. Though ignored by mainstream medical sciences, hodophobia is a big threat to the youth of the new generation, who are always on the go, especially girls. Midnight Mirror delves deep into the psyche of what one exactly goes through, when put under such horrific circumstances. The affected suffer from hallucinations, rapid increase in blood pressure, and at times.. death. It is a story about a soap-serial actress Jahnavi, travelling alone in a cab in the streets of Kolkata, India, and the kind of people she encounters. The film, mostly shot inside the car, has a subtle undertone and the reflection of how the society reacts to such situations and yet the treatment of the film tries to be blunt and realistic. With no background music to guide the audience, the viewer is placed with the characters inside the car, to feel and understand the situation by him/herself.
