Anthony Battaglia is a filmmaker born and raised in Colorado. He first became interested in storytelling at the age a ten when he made his first movie with his parent’s camcorder. After that, his passion and curiosity grew as he learned more about the craft by studying film, filmmakers, and film history. Anthony always felt a connection to the world of cinema. He began pursuing film in high school when he took his first film class and furthered his interests in writing and directing. There he wrote, directed, produced, and edited over a dozen short films throughout his junior and senior year. Anthony and his team won multiple local and school-sponsored awards including two for best film. During his senior year, he won first place in the district competition for a short film he created for FBLA and represented his school at the state conference. When he became a film student at the University of Colorado Denver, he began working on diverse projects in a variety of roles; including writing and producing during his freshman year. He then began working as an intern at Comcast NBCUniversal’s local production studio where he helps to build sets, crew on productions, and edit content. When Sophomore year arrived, he decided to make a push for directing. When the opportunity to direct Scorned presented itself, Anthony decided that it was time to take on a project that would not only advance his standing at school, but branch out to festivals and begin to get his name out to the filmmaking world.
