George and I have been making films together as amateurs since he could walk. Over the past 6 years whilst George has sat his GCSEs and completed his final year at Bedford College studying a Level 3 Extended UAL Creative Media Production and Technology Diploma qualification, for which he was awarded a distinction, we find ourselves pushing harder and harder to achieve better quality productions.
George, 20, is confident in the use of our "A" cam, a Canon EOS C500 MKII and our "B" cam, the Canon EOS C200. He also acts as DoP and assistant director on all of our work and is stepping forward to assist with editing on a regular basis. George is now studying for a degree in filmmaking in Leeds, but we continue to create documentaries and have three in production throughout 2023.
George and I work mostly together, although he does undertake commissions for producers and production companies without me. He takes his work very seriously and we have always received excellent feedback from everyone we have filmed with.
2023 has ramped up for us with the completion of our York Normandy Veterans documentary; Never Too Young, Never Too Old. We have seen success with being shortlisted for an award at BIFA qualifying film festival Brighton Rocks, and hope this continues for the remainder of 2023-24. I was a railway engineer for 33 years and have only been able to concentrate on filmmaking part-time up until 2021, when it became my main pastime.
