Michał Krenz is a student of directing at the Wajda School’s Studio Prób. He holds an MA in Creative Writing (Screenwriting) from the University of Oxford, and degrees in Architecture and Urban Planning from Gdańsk University of Technology and TU Berlin. Since 2018, he has worked as a script consultant and assistant director on “The Wedding” (2021), “The Good House” (2025), and “Guilty” (2025) by W. Smarzowski. He has acted in Oxford student theatre (Under Milk Wood) and made his screen debut in “The Wedding”. He published the story collection “Entropie” (2008) and the audio drama “Cut Them Loose” (Audible, 2019). His novel “Recurrences” is in preparation. He is completing a PhD at Oxford on architecture in postwar Polish cinema. He has taught creative writing (Oxford, summer school), architecture (Cambridge, summer school), and film and art history (Akademeia, Warsaw). He has worked as a columnist (Gazeta Wyborcza), TV journalist, cultural programme producer, and architect (Fielden Clegg Bradley, Eike Becker Architekten). He trained as a pilot candidate and airfield firefighter at the West London Aeroclub. As creative director in Berlin and Singapore start-ups, he explored AI-assisted filmmaking. He directed an award-winning music video in Sofia and co-created weekly shorts in a Berlin film collective.
