Michael is originally from California - but has moved around much of his life...having lived for lengthy stints of time in Oregon, Washington, and now Maryland -- he spent the majority of his youth in New Hampshire though.
Since the age of 9, when his mother first bought a VHS camcorder to record dog shows, Michael has dreamed of making films and telling stories, especially in the digital medium. He first started with action figures, clay-mation and his ferret...eventually graduating to torturing his friends and family with live action film making during high school. He made his start by crafting terrible music videos and "Blair Witch" ripoffs in the woods around the house -- using mostly Windows Movie Maker.
Eventually he got into FSC's video production program, where he thought he knew everything but was much humbled by just how much he didn't know about the world of filmmaking in general. It wasn't until he graduated and got a job with Princess Cruises as a senior videographer, traveling Alaska to Panama and the Caribbean Sea that he finally got the hang of things.
Right around 2009, he left all that and moved to Maryland to look for some more solid work which led to producing, shooting and editing a few independent shorts from local unknowns in the region. After meeting his wife, and the birth of their son, the two settled on collaborating on a short themselves, with Amy at the writer's helm and Michael at the Director's chair. Thus, the INSIDE was given life following the two's love of famous YouTubers, Mike & Jay from Red Letter Media.
