Michael Lamarra is an Emmy winning New York based Cinematographer that just loves this craft. He found his interest in the camera at age 12 in suburban Pennsylvania when he discovered his parents' VHS camcorder, and he couldn't stop thinking of the world without a frame border. He was blessed with many mentors along the way, and now feels grateful to be shooting narrative shorts and features as well as working as a camera operator for the major networks including ABC, CBS, Hearst, and private clients like Disney, Deutsche Bank, and Target.
He wrote and created three short films out of Hunter College (Logan’s Power, Surface Tension, and The Brown Recluse), and shot many more shorts for others before becoming a co-founder of the collective, Girl Soup. There he co-wrote and shot the award-winning short film currently in distribution, Let's Leave The Planet! and shot their next short in festivals, Don't Bother The Neighbors! Currently the collective is in post production on their folk horror feature, Outen The Light, written and shot by Michael.
