My journey in this industry has been an absolute whirlwind filled with twists, turns and excitement. The only interest I had in this industry as a kid was watching movies every week like clockwork. I would go to my local DVD store and pick up a classic movie. New or old it didn’t matter.

As a teenager I was a keen athlete with every ambition of going for the Olympics. I truly believed this dream was a possibility. Winning medals at national and regional level and progressing through the ranks, I competed until injury plagued me for 3 years and stunted my progress. This led to the inevitable reality that this dream was coming to an end.

When I left school, I didn’t really know which direction my life was going in and so I decided to pursue a career in sport and become a sports scientist. I signed up to an introductory course so that I could gain the qualification needed to enter the advanced degree course in sports science. However, a year later, I received an unexpected letter from my college saying that unfortunately, they couldn’t offer me a place on the degree course. I was in shock and back at square one.

Whilst spending a summer thinking about what I was going to do with my life, I asked myself what do I love? Whilst scanning my room, I clocked the big wooden chest filled with DVDs and it hit me like a bolt of lightning, it was acting that I had to do. In a rush of excitement, I looked for acting classes and found a course in college and decided to apply. In my interview/audition I couldn’t breathe. I was so nervous and immediately emailed the lecturer afterwards and apologised for my nerves and asked if I could be put into a lower course. To my surprise, they replied saying that they saw real potential in me and offered an unconditional offer. The following week, I received an unexpected phone call from the sports college. They said they were really sorry that I had received a rejection letter in error and that they would love for me to attend. My mind was already made up though, I was going to be an actor.

For the last 10 years, I’ve been working and growing as a creative in Theatre, Short Films, Tv and Feature Films. I have been lucky enough to work on the big screen which has taught me so much. More recently, I’ve been working on making my own content which allows me to have more control over my creative outlet. I’ve been directing and producing music videos and later this year, I will be debuting my first Short Narrative which I produced, directed and starred in
