Miami Web Fest is hosting a filmmaker bootcamp in conjunction with Red Coral Universe, an OTT streaming platform catering to independent artists. Taught by Founder, CEO and Academy Award filmmaker, Larry Meistrich, the intensive workshop covers the how-to’s of producing, financing, filmmaking, content creation, marketing, and distribution, along with discussions on how the business is changing, strategies that filmmakers can use to succeed, secrets to pitching a project, and producing/ negotiating/ distributing a feature film or web series. Boot Camp attendees will learn how to navigate the film industry and have the opportunity to pitch their project to Red Coral Executives who will be on-hand to offer distribution deals.
Red Coral Universe, the home for independent artists, is an OTT streaming platform that’s free to use and available on all Roku, Firestick, Smart TVs, iOS, Android, and other connected devices, as well as the web. The platform features a large and eclectic catalog of award-winning, independent feature-length and short films, tv series, music videos, podcasts, talk shows, sports leagues, rap battle leagues, live concerts, and filmed theatrical plays. The company also finances, produces, and distributes original content and currently has over a dozen projects in production or development.
The bootcamp will take place from 10am – 8pm May 2, 3rd, and 4th at the New York Film Academy (Miami) 3rd floor, 420 Lincoln Rd #300, Miami Beach, FL 33139. The cost for the workshop is $300, which includes and executive pitch session with Red Coral executives who will be on hand at the boot camp.
