Before submitting your film to MFCF, please take the time to properly read our Rules & Terms. You expressly acknowledge and accept that you will be bound by the terms of these Rules & Terms by entering your film into Mexico Film & Creativity Festival’s selection process. No matter the film's theme, origin, or content, it can be submitted to MFCF. The MFCF does not promise that your film will be chosen if you submit it. A distinguished " Mexico Film & Creativity Festival" Certificate of Recognition will be given to each winning film. Please be aware that we do not provide FREE exemptions of application fees. We give every filmmaker the same respect.
➼ All movies must be submitted with English subtitles or in the language (if in a different language).
➼ In order to submit a film, you must own the rights or have permission from the owner.
➼ Not all the submissions are selected for the official competition. Our Judges are free to make their own choices and no answers will be given about not selected films.
➼Filmmakers can submit the film in multiple categories in order to become a multi-award film. Our Team may suggest the categories that are more suitable for the film to apply. Still, the decision about the selection is strictly determined by our judges' team and no selection is guaranteed.
➼Mexico Film & Creativity Festival can consider any film to be disqualified if the festival considers the content inappropriate.
➼Mexico Film & Creativity Festival will not be responsible for damaged copies.
➼Mexico Film & Creativity Festival will hold the sole authority to refuse entries.
➼ Any film that is submitted for a particular month may be submitted again for a second chance because we have different Judging panels for each season.
➼ Short movies are limited to 30 minutes in length. Feature Film is limited to 40 minutes in length.
➼ Entry fees are never refundable, and this needs to be understood seriously. The submission fee is not refundable even if a filmmaker decides to remove/withdraw their submission.
➼ Correct category carefully to prevent disqualification. Reclassifying films into the appropriate category is solely at the festival's discretion.
➼ Even though we accept films in all languages, there is one rule that must be strictly adhered to: films in languages other than English must have English subtitles, or else they will be rejected right away.
➼ A director or producer is allowed to submit more than one movie in a category and more than one movie at once.
➼ Filmmakers are in charge of organizing the copyright for their own works.
➼ The MFCF retains the discretion to deny admission.
➼A film's creator will be contacted when it has been chosen, and then it will finally be listed on the Mexico Film & Creativity Festival website. The MFCF Laurel may be used on your posters and banners if you have the "Selected" status.
➼Once the certificate is issued to a particular category for the respected filmmaker, and then there will be no change of category of submission and Certificate pattern which is issued by MFCF Team, unless there is a name spelling correction.
➼ All types of entry fees are non-refundable. We request to read all the rules, terms, and regulations to avoid any form of complication in the submission process.
➼Nominations: Included in this list are all the movies that have been up for a certain award in that category. Not all of the nominated movies will be shown.
➼ Official Selection: All of the nominated movies that have been chosen for showing will be contacted via email.
➼ You acknowledge that the Mexico Film & Creativity Festival may be subject to copyright, trademark, credit, and publicity claims and agree to defend and hold Mexico Film & Creativity Festival harmless from and against any and all liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorneys' fees and court costs) that may be related to such claims.
➼ These Rules & Terms may be changed from time to time without prior notice under the exclusive authority of Mexico Film & Creativity Festival. Any such modifications would take effect right away. Keep an eye on the rules and conditions from your end.
