Mexcala

In Mezcala de la Asunción, the last native population residing along the shores of Mexico's largest lake, a father and son navigate a dual struggle. While dealing with the constant pressures of those seeking to claim their ancestral land, they also confront the impact of chronic kidney disease—a condition that affects much of their community. Created following the philosophy of ethnofiction, this short film offers an intimate glimpse into their fight for survival and the preservation of their identity.
