Metamorfosi - A settlement in flux
Machines working tirelessly under the scorching sun. Pumps, reels, and unbearable horizons over corrugated metal sheets that burn to the touch. Eleven months after the devastating floods of 2023, the settlement of Metamorfosi in Karditsa, Greece, awaits the end of a suffocating August.
The documentary is an anthology of scenes depicting a village in flux, waiting for its possible relocation. Alongside, a countryside that is being transformed and residents moving back and forth through its fields—waiting to leave, to stay, to replaster their bedroom walls, to welcome winter.
