Director Mesut KALFA was born in Bursa-Turkey. After completing his high school education at military school, he served as a non-commissioned officer in various parts of Turkey. He graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Language, History and Geography, Department of Urdu Language and Literature. Mesut KALFA's first cinematic work as a director is the short film "Rica Minnet" (Plead). This film is an adaptation of Ahmad Nadeem Kasmi's story called Sefaarish (Request) in Pakistani literature and is also his university graduation thesis. The film was included in the Pakistan International Film Festival Final selection in 2019. He shot his second short film, "Action Reaction", during his three years at the Turkish Embassy in Pakistan. This film received the "Outstanding Production" award in the Mobile Phone category at the 2018 Kalkutta-India International Film Festival. The director's first feature-length work was the Turkey-Pakistan co-production "Cell Cycle" in 2023. Director Mesut KALFA lives in Istanbul.
