Merchant of Illusion

This new release from Albaluna comes to define the sound that the band has been searching for over the last thirteen years of its career, a fusion between ancestral and modern musical elements, a blend of east and west. The hurdy-gurdy, bagpipes, darbouka and violin are allied to the electric bass, drums and electric guitar, in an evident union between progressive rock and ethnic music from the Mediterranean, adorned by the poetic Portuguese word. Conceptually, "Mercador de Ilusão" addresses and elevates those who dedicated their existence to the search for knowledge and progress, even if it meant breaking dogmas, social and cultural barriers, prejudices and superstitions, and exposing their own lives to risk.

More than a band, Albaluna are a concept. It's through a multidisciplinary fusion between music and poetry, inspired by the ancient cultures of the Silk Road, that the originality of this project emerges. Albaluna find in their passion for the History of Civilizations a starting point for a well-grounded fight against prejudice and intolerance between cultures. The artistic expression develops around ancestral concepts and a modern approach.
With five albums in its discography, the band already has a vast national and international curriculum, having already trodden stages all over Europe, as well as in Morocco, India and China.
