Meniscus Film Festival is all about celebrating the short films of water-connected artists from the local area and around the world.
Within a 8 minute window, the vision of a filmmaker becomes the vision of the audience.
Meniscus Film Festival is open to all film genres - the common thread being able to display some connection to water (be it the ocean, drinking water, some form of science, etc).

Entries must be no longer than 8 minutes.
The producer grants the Meniscus Film Festival the rights to:
(a) Exhibit the film in the Meniscus Film Festival and any subsequent tour
(b) Reproduce the film for inclusion as part of a compilation
(c) Exhibit the production either in part or in total for promotional purposes
The producer warrants to the Meniscus Film Festival that they have obtained all the necessary permissions to enter this film and that the film does not infringe the rights, including copyright, of any third party. This includes use of music and literary material (ie if your film is based on a novel or poem).
Entries will not be considered valid until the entry fee has been paid.
Entries must be received or postmarked by 5pm, Friday 30 September 2016
Entries cannot be withdrawn after Friday 1 July 2016. By submitting your film to the Meniscus Film Festival for consideration, you acknowledge this condition of entry and waive your right to withdraw your film from the Festival after this date.
If your film is selected for the competition you will be sent a letter of confirmation (via email) by Friday 14 October 2016. Film Prints, tape masters or hard drives must be received by Friday 21 October 2016.
Materials submitted in the initial entry process will not be returned. Screening copies of films selected to screen in the Top 20 will be returned to the nominated address (except for USB’s) on the entry form after the Festival. Please make sure this address is correct and if any details change please email us at meniscusff@gmail.com to let us know.
The Meniscus Film Festival will pay for the return of participating films for the Festival within Australia. Forwarding of prints to international destinations will be at the filmmaker’s expense. Forwarding films to the Festival is the responsibility of the filmmaker.
Whilst the Meniscus Film Festival will take due care of prints or tapes entered, the Festival will not be responsible for any loss and/or damage to prints, DVDs or tapes while they are in the possession of the Festival or any of the cinemas hosting the Festival or the Tour.
The Meniscus Film Festival will tour a selection of films featured in the Festival nationally over summer 2016/17. All films entered in the Meniscus Film Festival must be available for touring. Tour films will be returned after the tour concludes

The Meniscus Film Festival does NOT screen from Beta SP or HDCam. Please see the Screening Formats & Audio Specifications page for more information. To ensure your entry is screened correctly, you must include screening gauge and ratio details as requested on the entry form.
