Memory of scars

Artist Statement
"Memory of scars which never dissipates but stayed with us for the lifetime, it gets fade by the passage of time but remain intact". My subject matter depicts the traumatic memories of us which makes us strong and capable to endure more things than before. It is a psychology of humans to get more tolerant to pain, if they have experienced any past traumas, which thereon influence a person's sensitivity and perception of pain. A regular exposure to painful impulse may increase our pain tolerance. My artwork depicts such exposure of our pain. This video was captured with thermal camera effect.

‘Memory of scars’ is not just a hue on sheet of canvas or a video but a bundle of raw emotions. The objective is to portray the scars that has significant impact on every individual. The journey to create this art was very confining and excruciating, in such a way that it leads the artist to the places and made her capture things which were too sensitive to normal individuals. Everyone has scars; some scar tissue is hidden inside the body while other scars are visible on the skin. Scars are the reminders of many countless memories. For artist, scars are quite prevalent and a daily occurrence in her life. People are defined by these markings on their skin that are permanent. They can be as little as a speck or as huge as a person's entire face. Scars can be interpreted in several ways; some people see them as trophies or stories to be told, while others see them as flaws and defects. People experience pain have more tolerance level then before which makes them strong. Experience combines both the mind and the body, resulting in an unpleasant sensation that alerts your brain that something is wrong with your body. A vexing and unpleasant sensory and emotional experience caused by damaged tissues, beliefs, and ideas.

A study conducted with individuals who described their recent memories of trauma and tremendous emotional experience. Results driven that traumatic memories are more vivid and consistent relative to positive memories. People encounter traumas in childhood or in adulthood have more clear visions of these memories as compared to their good memories.
