Memories of The "33 POL" Land

At the very beginning of World War II, according to the German-Soviet Pact, Poland got divided between Germany and the former Soviet Union. One of the consequences of this partition was the mass deportation of the Polish people, men, women and children, taken to Siberia where they were under the sway of a forced labour rule.
In 1941, when the German army attacked the former Soviet Union taking the side of the allied forces, Stalin found himself bound to release these deportees. At once the Polish army in exile got organized on the spot to guide the survivors to Iran going through the Caspian Sea. In this way they settled for a few years in Persian ground, particularly in the city of Isfahan's, not far from the monument «33 Pole» - the Bridge to the thirty-three arcades.
Returning on pilgrimage to the country where they had taken refuge, the survivors, whose saying had been silenced for half a century of communism, describe their odyssey.
Through their testimonies and archival images, the documentary story-tell this tragic episode forgotten from history.
