Experiencing Interruptions?

Memories

This short film follows the story of a family who suffers a great loss due to the global pandemic 'Coronavirus'.
The film captures the loss that countless people around the world may have had to endure in 2020, through what had been a dark year for many.
We aim to highlight to people that our time is precious and that we must try to use our time wisely to create memorable moments doing the things that matter.
We look back at the year and miss not being able to see our friends and our families, yet we also regret that we never did this enough before Covid-19 affected us all in some way.
Least to say it was a year of reflection for all.
The film also acts as a stark reminder that the virus is very real and can affect anyone.

Director Biography - Aeman Ali Afzal

Father of 1 and aspiring filmmaker from Blackburn, UK.
I started a small production company in 2012, at a young age of 17, we now specialise in offering corporate film and photography, I have been writing short films and skits since high school but I have never had the courage to put any into production until now.
I hope to allocate more time and money into producing more short films and breaking into this big industry from a small town.
I have much to learn and try, but I am eager and motivated to make as many mistakes as necessary to have the opportunity to get my work on the big screen.
I dont hope to get spotted for being the best, I hope to get spotted for being different and raw.

Director Statement

This is my first budget independent short film, and we hope that it reaches far and wide and that we are able to spread a little light, as we reflect on this very dark journey that together we have all had to come through, whilst staying apart. Distance is nothing, if we still have each other.
Based on a true story of my friend who has lost his grandmother to Covid-19.

This film was jointly funded by myself and my mother who has been fighting cancer whilst shielding from the virus.
