Meet Mr. Chang

Meet Mr. Chang is the story of an Indian of Chinese descent, Mr Chang (Chein Ho Liao) who has been in India since generations. He has never ever personally visited China though he does speak Chinese, albiet not as fluently as Hindi.
Mr. Chang is an Indian in all aspects beginning with citizenship, and the colony that he lives in since decades is dotted with best friends who swear by each other, even during times of love and war.
COVID 19 however brings with it its own pitfalls. Fueled and ratcheted into a shocking Tsunami of hate, Mr. Chang finds himself engulfed by this new wave of racism in the midst of a life-threatening epidemic.
His best friends suddenly turn worst xenophobic foes, indulging in scapegoating and scare-mongering. Mr. Chang feels victimised and very hurt. Admitted, racism always existed in some form or the other, but now it had become uncharacterisitically powerful.
Mr. Chang is no oridinary Indian. Somewhere deep down, he holds the belief that the salvation for this human world even in the midst of a global pandemic, lies in the human heart.
Reflecting on Mahatma Gandhi’s words, “We must be the chang we wish to see in the world,” Mr. Chang embarks on his quest to use the vaccine of love and forgiveness to strengthen the immunity of his residential society against the virus of hate.
