Meditation on movement and light
Have your headphones on to fully enjoy the sound. A shorter 5 minute version is available here: https://vimeo.com/160377654
"Meditation on Movement and Light" is achieved through altering and overlaying the images of water and city light, and an improvised dance performance. The dancers improvised movement without sound in the room. The audio track is composed of altered mundane sounds, such as subway, water, crowds, percussion and gong.

Anna Grigorian was born in Yerevan, Armenia. Her art practice is based between Armenia and Canada since 2013.
Currently, she is working in the mediums of video art and installation. Her practice revolves around questioning the power relations between individuals, and sociopolitical systems. Her pieces are aimed at disrupting the habitual, and presenting the reality under an unexpected angle.
The main inspiration for her work comes from facing and challenging accepted socioeconomic realities, unspoken rules on individual well being, fixed structures that influence and often dictate our life. Constructing absurd, surreal situations allows her to present the accepted norms, and dominant structures of our society from a different angle, and generate a discussion around difficult topics.
