His WW1-era film ‘Deserters’, produced on a £14,000 budget, gained critical acclaim, while his micro-budget horror film ‘Woodgrove’ screened at UK horror festivals. He also served as Associate Producer on ‘Finger Food’, directed by Jacob Dudman (Doctor Who, Fate: The Winx Saga), which achieved success at several UK and international festivals.
Across all his projects, Rakan has raised over £30,000 in funding through crowdfunding and private investors, and led diverse teams of 20+ cast & crew while gaining expertise in concept development, budgeting, production management, casting, and festival strategy.
Rakan founded Medina Productions to create high-quality films, with plans to expand into feature filmmaking. Known for his strong leadership and collaborative approach, he pushes creative boundaries to deliver impactful work. Growing up in Lebanon and Dubai and living in the United States has given Rakan a globally informed perspective, which he brings to his productions.
