Not a single person in the Panjer Village, Bali, knows exactly when the Meburu tradition was first implemented. It's just that everyone believes that this event is important to hold every year. Various meanings have emerged to interpret the term Meburu which is linked to "the process of hunting and calming the power of bhuta kala so that it does not disturb people's lives and carrying out the nomyya process so that it can provide balance between the aspects of bhuana Agung and Bhuana Alit."
The Meburu tradition is carried out in a series of processes over several days and the peak of the ceremony is held at Tawur Agung Kesanga or the day before the Nyepi holiday. This tradition is carried out voluntarily by prioritizing the concept of ngayah which is carried out by all Panjer traditional village communities.
