McKenna Nalow is a storyboard artist currently based in Cleveland, Ohio with a passion for creating character-driven stories. They seek to fill what they see as a gap in dramatic and story-driven animated content geared towards those in their 20s-30s. As a “Zillenial” themself, McKenna grew up watching story-driven animated series such as Avatar: The Last Airbender, Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, and Steven Universe and sees a desire for more content in that vein amongst their peers. They believe that animation is a medium of storytelling, not a genre, and wants to see the medium expand more into this direction. In their work, McKenna strives to explore complex emotions such as empathy and grief in a way that is honest and accessible. They feel that the level of skill and attention that goes into creating a piece of animation makes it an incredibly intimate form of storytelling and therefore an ideal way of expressing such topics.
