As a child, I was always looking for a way to bring my imaginary world to life. At the age of ten, I discovered the power of film to do just that. The stories I want to tell often take shape through an image I see in my mind — something I feel the need to explore.
I am currently studying Audiovisual Media at the Utrecht School of the Arts. I think I’m always trying to understand people. I try not to see things only from my own perspective — although that’s obviously very difficult. No one can fully see the world from every point of view, but you can try to look at things from multiple angles. Everyone is different, and many people don’t understand each other. It would be wonderful if you could help people understand others better. That’s also why I want to make films — because with film, you can show someone’s life, and help others understand why someone is the way they are. When people understand each other, it becomes easier to accept and respect one another for who they truly are.
