Matt is an award-winning Writer, Director, and Producer of narrative films. He also plays a pivotal role as an Editor and Producer for the Emmy Award Winning Documentary Film Company, Havey Productions, based in Denver, CO.

Matt or as many of his colleagues call him, "Sandy" or "Sandman", is a trailblazer of all aspects of the filmmaking process. Not only is he renowned for his ability as a captivating storyteller, but he also focuses his time collaborating with filmmakers in underrepresented communities and ensuring that people from diverse backgrounds have a voice both on screen and behind the camera.

Matt is also a member of the Colorado Film & Video Association Board of Directors. His mission is to grow the Colorado Film Community by lobbying for tax incentives and ensuring that college students, especially from marginalized communities, have fair and equitable opportunities for work and mentorship as they break into their filmmaking careers.
